I agree that you don't want to check it at static.That is why I said it needs to be shot in.Either on a hill or with the 4rth axis tool that I linked to.


I do have an idea in my head that will check the arrow at full draw and be able to set the 3rd axis to it.Should put you dead on.

Can you use that tool you linked to for fiked bar sights? Or is it just for extension bar type sights?

It will only work on dovetail sights,not fixed sights.

What I have in my head will work on any bow and sight combo.

Now I just need to get another round tuit.

Cool, is this like an invention, or would you release the design to fellow shooters? Any way I will start with the shims.

Actually the 4rth axis tool MIGHT work but you will only be able to move the sight forward and back as far as the mounting hole you have will allow.


I would suggest just finding a hill(or a stand)and setting up a target inside your effective hunting range and see where you are at.If it is off,then just adjust the 3rd axis accordingly.


I probably won't do much with the idea.Patents are so expensive and products like this get coppied all the time in the archery world.They change a few details and it is a different item.I may make a few for some friends but finding the time is tuff.

The biggest problem with this idea is convincing people they need it,this subject is just too confusing and most don't even realize the problem exist.

Greg,if and when I make the product,I will make a few.I will let you try it out if I ever get that tuit.

Another reason to have the 2nd,3rd and 4th axis set is that if you think that the fixed sights and some dovetail sights the mounting plate is square your wrong, I have checked a bunch of them at the shop and was very surprised at just how badly out of square some of the more popular sights are.

Some risers are not square eitherwhich will open up another can of worms when you try and sight in.
