Is my peep sight installed wrong?

It doesn't get much more "archery newbie" than this.
The rubber chord that runs to my peep sight is looped around the string, then connects to the peep instead of being a straight line to the peep. It seems like it would rotate my string whileI draw, possibly affecting accuracy?
Does this make any sense? Do I need to remove the chord and unwrap it from around the string, making it a straight connection to the peep? At first I thought it may have been to remove some of the slack but that doesn't seem too probably. Sorry for the lame question, but I appreciate it!

The tube installs over the.......Forgive my terminology.........nipple, on the back of the peep. From there, it goes directly to your cable and tied in. It shouldn't be wrapped around anything.

I wonder if it came that was from PSE or if it was a goof by the guy setting up my bow. But as I said, it comes from the cable, around the shooter's side (rear) of the string BACK AROUND to the back of the peep.
Either way, I changed/fixed it and will shoot tomorrow if my shoulder gets to feeling better. I'm also switching from 125 gr. to 100 gr. broadheads so I'll probably need to make some sight adjustments anyway. Thanks guys.

Sounds to me like your string has stetched some so now the peep is off by 180 degrees. The correct way to fix it would be to take the peep out and turn it so that it faces you again.
