Can any of you Hogg shooters with a new Hogg Wrap equipped sight tell me if the pins and fibers can be easily removed from the sight? I'm interested in ordering a Hunter Hogg-Itbut don't want 5 pins. Thanks for any feedback.

Also, anyone have any photos of what the new Hoggs look like on your rigs? Thanks again.

I tried to answer this for you when you first posted it, but the system wouldn't allow me to Log in. Anyway, I finally was able to do it and here goes.

The removal is much easier than the replacement. The wraps are very tight and utilize some tooling due to how compact they're made. If you're going to remove them and never replace them again, simply unscrew the pin(s) desired and cut the fiber at the base of the pin. I say do it this way because removing the fiber might entail having to remove the entire wrap system and could cause problems reinstalling it without tools.

I'm going to tell you something that I tell most of my customers. If you leave the extra pins on the sight you can utilize them for longer distance shooting. This will make the shorter shorts seem easier. When leaving my stand in the morning I sometimes shoot at long distance objects for practice.

If you don't want them for hunting (causing confusion), then find a method to 'blank' them out temporarily. You can either move the undesirable onesdown as far as they'll go or put something, like a small strip of tape, on them so that you don't see them.

Resale will be better if all the pins are there.
