Default A quick string leech question

In one of the many discussions on string leeches on here, someone mentioned something, some material, that they put between the string and the leech that seemed to extend the life of them. I cant remember what it was, and I cant find the post, can anybody with a better memory help. Thanks!

I've seen references to duct tape, shrink tubing, cut up cat whiskers, etc...

I stretch a little piece of tubing over them -- the kind of tubing used to align peep sights. I use about a 1/4" piece, it is a little tricky getting it on there and if you have a helper becomes much easier. Works great, looks good too, prevents string from cutting the leaches.
