Default Cam lean on Drenalin???

I have a question for the experts. I've read a couple of posts that included the following advice:
Check the cam lean at static position and full draw.
I don't have a problem , but I'm curious. On a Drenalin, does this mean the idler wheel? If not, how would you adjust to correct cam lean when there's no yoke on the cam end of the bow?

Yes

You don't [8D]

You might be able to fix some lean if the bushings and or the limb holeis worn out at the cam end.

Short, sweet and to the point. Thanks, TFOX.

An extenstion to what TFOX is talking about.

I read an article where some guys checked out some cams on bows and found that the holes where not round. So, they fixed the problem by putting jb weld into the hole and re-truing the hole on the cam and found it corrected the problem.

I would not suggest this for the average guy. If you don’t do it right, there’s a chance that you can break the limb. Remember that by redrilling the limb you are weakening the limb. If your limbs are that far off I would suggest getting a hold of the manufacturer and have them fix it. It’s the safer way to go.

I'm not recommending it for any body. Just giving an example of a fix I saw.

Also, I believe I stated that they did the mod to the cam, not the limb. I'd never recommend modding the limbs. However, the cam is metal and you can tweak with it with less chance of the type of cataclysmic damage that would result in drilling the limbs and cracking them.

The Spot Hogg boys are known for the JB Weld trick. Of course, if you did it the warranty would be voided.

I checked one in my shop today and found that the cam leaned about 5/8" to the left of idler centerlineon a right-handed bow. At full draw the cam went to dead center on the idler. The idler at static was dead on center and moved about 1/4" to the right at full draw.

Is this normal? Maybe, but I don't really know the design characteristics of this Mathews bow. Seems to shoot OK.

Plus the Spot Hogg boys are clamping it in a machine to test before they are drawing it in their hands. If it comes apart in a machine,no big deal but gets a bit nasty when it is in your hands when it happens.[8D]

they're re-drilling the holes in the limb, because often times they haven't been drilled square, they are not doing anything to the cams. the real good shooters around here replace the mathews axles and yoke posts w/ all pse parts. they also fill in the limb pockets w/ something silver and re-seat the limbs. both of these are done to get less slop.after its done there is really no bottom cam movement from side to side.

I guess if I had a bow that needed to be moded after market to fix I'd return for a repalcement or a refund. Bows cost too much today for stuff like that.
