However, before I killed these deer, I missed one. Reason being that I was shooting a 390 grain Maxima Hunter at 314 fps. I hadnt shot one to practice because I was told they fly just like a field tip. This is true, but at speeds like that, they open up in flight, then go crazy. I switched to a heavier arrow, and everything else was great.
Mac87, how fast are you shooting.....the guy at my bow shop said they will open up on you when you get to 305 or faster.

Here is a video of a broadhead test done. See what you think. I use the Rocky Mountain Snyper and it did really well in this competition. Use the advise you have been getting here and tune your bow to your broadheads and you wont be sorry.

Great test - although some of the heads that were damaged going through the plywood would, I'm sure, be very lethal on broadside rib shots through a deer. It's also interesting to see that most broadheads hit a little low from field points - even out of a perfectly tuned bow. All my bows do this to at least some degree. I've just kinda resigned myself to move the sight, right before big game hunting season, to put the field points about an inch high at 20 yards - and subsequently resulting in zero for the G5 Montec. Thanks for sharing . . . .
