Big Eyou are no where near 300fps. I would venture to say you are shooting around 225-235fps.

Your arrow is way too heavy to get high speeds even with 75 pounds.

I am not familiar with the Rage,it sounds like that it is likely a short brace height speed burner, even if that is true with the arrow weight you are shooting you are not likely to be close to 300 fps.Thearchers looking to get the most speed outof their (usually 3d set ups)sometimes take their arrow weight down to 5 grains of arrow weight per pound of draw weight,I believe that is the IBO legal minimum. With arrows that light thelimbs are taking a lot more punishment.

I come up with about 223 fps. Depends on the exact model you have and how much weight is on your string. It may be less than that.

I would agree with the others. The Rage is a nice bow but not a speedster by today's standards. It might have an IBO rating of around 300 fps but that is at a 30 inch draw length with a 350 grain arrow. Your heavier arrow and shorter draw length is robbing at least 60-70 fps from that rating. In contrast, the slightly heavier draw weight is only gaining you about 9 fps. Estimates between 220 and 235 are probably right on the money.

Dont worry about fps a heavey arrow will penatrate more then speed will. I could get into all the reasons but it would be a copy of all the other posts on this subject. I think my arrows are around 550-600. I only get about 190fps, out of a glass backed long bow.

well guss u r getting 44 ft.lb not bad for a long bow,

big eon at 230 fps, and 501 arrow u are in the 59 ft lb. and for u to get 300 fps, u may need to get all the stuff off that string and shoot a 350 grain arrow, now at 350grains at 280 u would gain a little energy, only 2-4 ft lbs, that is not alot! but u would be shooting a flatter arrow and a smaller diameter, and that will make for a little better penitration!
i always think of huntnmuleys in this situation, he who has a small peter gets good penitration! now if he could only find a place to penatrate!lol ...brad

Interesting dialog especially from someone named Manboy. Or should it be little Pete.
