I would like to shoot in some sanctioned competitions this year. Is it possible to use the same bow that I use to hunt. What additions will I need to make (sights,Stabilizers, etc.). If I am not mistaken I will have to begin in the hunters class, so the set-up should reflect that.
It would be nice to purchase a new set-up but 4 kids with 2 in braces. No way!!!!!
i shoot a bear epic 2000. 70 #, 32" draw.
Thanks for all the help.

You can shoot 3D's with your hunting setup with no problem or any extra cost except the cost of entry at the various shoots. Believe it or not, 3D was originally started as hunting practice! Most everyone I know who started shooting 3D started with their hunting setups. Only in the last 10 years or so has everyone come to the thinking that they need "special" equipment to shoot. This is only true if you want to shoot in the Open, Semi-Pro, and Pro classes, where true "target" equipment is utilized to help with accuracy. Anything else can be shot competitively shooting regular hunting equipment.
The Hunter class is a great way to learn the targets and a feel for unmarked yardage, and not lose many arrows in the process due to the closer distances. It has been a very competitive class, and is great fun to those who choose to try it. I recommend it, but be ready to become addicted! Good shooting, Pinwheel 12
