Default Slick Trick Alignment

I got a defunct arrow straightener from a bud and modified it some what to check the run out on my Slicks. Had to repair the dial indicator, and re-mount it, got a real education, so thought I'd share w/ ya'll. I used to shoot verts, but injury and age and opportunity has taken me to xbows and carbons, so if ya'll do this everyday ignore the post. Well, that was refreshing!! Can't post the pics here as ya'll have 100kb limit, but it's 200kb on the xbow forum, so if ya'll want to see the pics go to xbow forum and look for the thread Slick Tricks Part II. Sorry for the hassle!

Well, I had read you just spin them on and you are good to go. Shot a couple at 30 yds and was w/in an inch of field points. So I quit checking, [wrong] There's an ASD floating around for all to use on the xbow forum, kinda you use and send it on type deal, so after I used it on all, I was doing some testing at 30 and launched one into the ozone. I read Gary's info on loosening, spinning washer and retightening and dang if it didn't work! I got 12 years as a machinist/Class "B" tool and die maker, and none of this made sense, so I rigged up this deal to check runout. Some that I thought werer near perfect had .012-.015" run out, but I got them all [8] under .004 and 5 of the 8 are under .002". That is one awesome b-head in my book, I'm useing the 100 gr 1 1/8" dia and all I have are the old ":dull" ones that I've honed on. Sorry again about not being able to get the pics up here, but trust me its easier for ya'll to go look than for me to fight this pos!!
