Hello all,
I need help/advice on a grip to choose for my 06' Old Glory. I am torqing the junk out of it. I have read and tried to form/repeat a consistenthold, high/medium/low,with minimum torque to no avail.[
]
I don't understand how the resultant force of my arm coming in at an angle would result in a straight forward force on the bow riser. I surely am putting alot of pressure on the outside edge of my grip.[
]
Anyway, last night I removed the grip from my riser. A hair dryer, various tools, and two hours later, the thing was off. By the way, anyone wanting to remove the grip from an 06', the epoxy I found to be pretty indifferent to temperature, hence old grip in pieces.The riser was getting pretty darn warm to the touch.
Anyway, I like the rounded edges of the bare riser and am looking at Loesch sideplates. Does anyone have $.02 to add concerning aftermarket grips. Sorry this was long winded.

Back when I used to shoot compounds, I always found the Loesch grips (handles) pretty much superior to the original equipment. I do not know the bow you are referring to but maybe inquire as to whether or not Loesch makes a no-torque grip for it.

I have the Loesch sideplates on my 06 Old Glory and couldn't be happier. It took A LOOOONG time to get them in, but they were worth the wait. I found that these sideplates give me a much more consistant grip each and every time I shoot the bow, not to mention they look pretty sweet!

I just got this one today in the mail from Jager Archery in Colorado. Got a cool thumb sling built in that it's nice and thin with a new contour. I think they are selling for $39.95.

i like the custom wood grips. the shrewd's are very nice, but they'll suck the cold out of the ground it seems. even shooting on a 40 degree day, after about 10 minutes my thumb feels like my ears do when its windy and 5 degrees outside - and i'm hatless.
