Default Mathews Switchback 05 vs 06 XT

Looks like I've made a convert and sold my Ovation to a friend. Now I'm buying a Switchback. Should I buy a used 05 model and save $300 or spend the extra money to get the XT and the lifetime warentee(sp)? Has anyone shot both and have a technical opinion on either?

Have you shot both? I was looking at the XT until I saw the complaints on the mathews forum about cable serving problems (where it rolls over the cam). Seems like some have the problem while others do not. Decided to wait on the 07 models.

I would get the 05' (assuming it was in pristine condition) and take part of the $$$ saved to get a set of 452x string/cable for it from gibblet and a new grip from torqueless grips. I have several thousand shots on mine with no serving issues. There really aren't any differences between last years switchback other than last years model being slightly longer ata, a bit faster, and thats about it.

The warranty on my XT saved me tons of time and $. The cam let go and fudged a few things up. Just something to consider...

FWIW, my friend's XT's camis chewing his serving up pretty good- he said he will have it reserved before season starts.

I noticed the regular switchback with warranty was being sold new at my dealer for ~50.00 less than the XT. Something else to consider ( they still sell the regular switchbacks as 06 models)
