Okay Matt, now you've gone and done it! Like I need some other high-priced toy to occupy my every passing thought! Thanks, BUDDY!! (said with as much venom as I can muster! )
Okay, the specs do sound incredible, and enough to get me to give up a left n... never mind. But, I guess my question still remains a little bit: Are you guys saying it takes going to the twin cams to produce these kind of numbers, and they can't do it with single-cam technology? (Nothing wrong with that, just curious as to why the companies are going back to the twins.) Is it to eke out the extra KE, fps, and all the other goodies?
Discipline -- not desire -- determines destiny.

FWIW, Companies aren't really "going back to twins" they've been making them all along (with the exception of Mathews).
Heck some companies i.e. Hoyt aren't offering a single or dual cam as an option. It's either a cam and 1/2 or a Spiral cam and 1/2 that's it.
BowTech has refined their both their duals and their singles this year...
FWIW, There are some single cams designs lurking in the darkness that are faster than the new dual cams... I don't think we'll see them for a while though...

You're right, BowTech_Shooter, I guess I didn't mean it as literally as it sounded in my post. Maybe going back to placing an emphasis within the R&D department, and with the company's marketing maybe?
Still, my query remains: Why the (seemingly) new-found interest in pushing the envelope using two cams?
And don't worry, BowTech_Shooter, I'm not one of those with a "Mathews is better than your company because I shoot one" mentality. (I noticed your "no offense" beginning in one of your earlier posts... Don't worry, I -- unlike some people -- realize I don't own nor have stock in the company, so no offense will be taken. It just happens to be what brand of bow I shoot currently. Of course, if you guys keep spittin' out these stats like this (Darn you again, Matt! ), the ol' Mathews may have a stablemate!
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
better nock travel AND less timing issues than the competition's single cams

I thought that was the single cam's advantage? Enlighten me, please! I know Mathews had to engineer a whole new cam (the straightline Maxcam) to address this problem, but supposedly it produced level nock travel... Mabye not, though.

Geeze Pat, are you saying that I'm going to have to buy a 2004 BowTech also. I haven't even seen the 2003 models and you are hinting that there's more speed possible for 2004! I guess I'll just have to start my own Bowtech museum.

Ok,you have(experts correct me here if I'm wrong)cam syncronization, which is how the cams fire or rollover in relation to each other. Then you have cam timing in relation to the draw cycle.Nock travel is the other issue. Some early single cam designs had trouble getting straight or level nock travel.
