I personally don't use feathers anymore but I used to. I used a dry powder to keep my feathers dry and it worked very well for me. I still have some waterproofing powder and it's called Feather-PRUF waterproofing powder, Made by Performance Outdoor Products Corp in Cleveland OH. 44142. Sorry no phone number.
I know Gateway also makes a real good waterproofing powder too. Here's a link to their web site http://www.gatewayfeathers.com/accessories.htm
Bohning also makes a real good powder here's a link to the store page for it http://www.bohning.com/cgi-bin/check...0++Accessories
I hope this helps you out...

This question was posted earlier this year, and someone,(can't remember now who, but THANK YOU!) had a great rememdy. Use the silicone spray for waterproofing tents, or leather shoes, I picked up a can at Walmart for just a few bucks. I also used a powder on the feathers after the silcone , as was suggested, but found I didn't need it. I left an arrow in the target overnight while it was raining that had been sprayed only, it was in perfect shape the next day.
I've always used vanes, this is the first year I've gone to feathers, had no problems with them in wet weather.
Oh yeah, should probably warn you, this stuff has a strong smell, so after you give the feathers a good soaking with it, let them air out outside for a bit. I just put mine out in the shed overnight.
Good luck!
