bowtech defender drop away rest????

RE: bowtech defender drop away rest????
None other than the QAD Ultra that I have tried. That is the only rest that has enough adjustment to get my center shot right.
Use the spacer that is included and move the prongs to the outer set of holes in the shaft and you should be good.

That's Sacrilegious! LOL
If you are looking for one, Huntersfriend.com has them for $83. If you have a local Bass Pro Shop, they can order the Lock Down models. Then just bring in a copy of a web site's lower price and they will match it.

RE: bowtech defender drop away rest????
It's not that there aren't a lot of nice rests out there. The problem is with the '05 Bowtech Defender itself. The riser is very thick and the cutout is very large. Both of these things make it hard to find a rest that will have enough horizontal adjustment to work. The rests that I know will not work without a lot of engineering include the Muzzy Zero Effect, any NAP drop away, TR Drop Zone and TT. I know there are others out there but I tried the QAD and am very happy with it.

Didn't know the riser was that thick, G2.
The HTM above is a massive rest with a lot of horizontal adjustment but might not work either.
Thanks for the information.

This is an e mail that i sent to bowtech and the reply that i got back about my defender, hope this helps!
squirreldog
both those sights and rest should work, however, without an extended
windage bar you will maximize the left distance. One of the ways that we
have reconciled the problem is by developing the off set pivoting limb
pockets in the 2006 Line

is it common for 2005 Defender to have trouble sighting in due to a
larger window that the sight wont adjust enouph. to get center. my set
up is whisker bisquit rest and toxonics three pin top dog sight. thanks

Yup, that is why the Defender only lasted one year. That and it was replaced by the Tribute. I didn't see any real problems with the other line-up.
The Defender is still an awesome bow. I shot the Tribute and love it but I cannot justify replacing my Defender yet. The Tribute is only a little bit better.
