#'s on aluminum arrows
I've seen a similiar post before but for some reason I can never find anything using the search option. Soooo.... Here it is again.
What do the #'s on aluminum arrows mean? I have been using 31" 2219 Easton XX75 Gamegetter II's that I had from my old Pearson. I want a shorter length on the arrows. I know that is longer than they need to be. Can I cut them down to 28" and still use them?
What all can I expect to gain or lose?
Thanks,
Kirk

The numbers represent the sizes of the arrow. Even though there's only one number (2219) it really represnents 2 seperate numbers. The 22 is the Diameter in 64ths of an inch and the 19 represents the wall thickness in thousands of an inch. So the arrow has a 22/64ths diameter and .019 wall thickness.
As far as cutting them down depends on your bow set up and draw length. You should probably take to a Pro shop for help with this anyway unless you have an arrow cut off saw.
If you need more help shoot me an email...You do remember me don't you?
BTW, you should also have someone check your set up on a spine chart these 2219's are a pretty stiff shaft.
