Default Limb Savers vs Stabilizer

As a new bow hunter, I'm just starting to learn about different bow set-ups and accessories. As I read about items to quiet the bow and dampen vibrations, I'm puzzeled by the option of limb savers vs a stabilizer. They seem to do the same thing, however, the limbsavers can be had for about $15, whereas a stabilizer looks to start at about $40. Should I be using either one or the other, or perhaps, both. Thanks in advance for your insights.

I have both limbsavers and a stabilizer (NAP shockblocker, around $25) on my bow. It is whisper quiet.

It really depends on how your bow is acting now. Is it hard to steady when you aim? Does it jump quite a bit when you shoot, or is it loud?

Limb Savers only remove viration they do not help balace a bow and/or remove torque. Remember, you want to "stabilize" the bow by trying to achieve a rock solid shooting platform, and that is what a stab does. For max results you really should invest in both. The GK Tranquilizer is inexpensive yet hugely popular on this site and many others. This exciting stab actually has Limb Savers inside of it.The best of both worlds... check out the Tranq.

for the money I would take a good shock reducing stabilizer like the golden key tranquilizer or the queit tune line of stabilizers before I would limb savers. to be honest I am not a big fan of them and have found their use to be declining since companies have added shock reduction measures to their bows. I have found that the tranquilizer did more for shock reduction for my bow than limb savers ever did. It was also a nice bonus to add a little weight to help balance the bow the way I like it. I would spend my 40 bucks on a tranquilizer before I would on a set of limbsavers and string leeches! Of course like any thing else some people really love limbsavers & swear by them. the best thing is to ask what people use with a bow like yours.

Use both they do different things. You dont have to have the limbsavers some people prefer different kinds of string silencers and some people dont use anything but everyone I know does have a stabilizer if your bow doesnt have one borrow one from a friend and shoot it and see the difference.
