Dream Set-Up

If money were no issue and you could get any equipment you wanted, what would it be.I am looking for a complete set-up,from bow to broadhead.Iknow most of you already have exactly what you want, but not evereybody is that fortunate.

RE: Dream Set-Up

I am one of those with four kids that cant afford a lot. I would have to to a lot of shops and try out some stuff. Right now I am pretty pleased with Bowtech. I cant afford the new ones so I pick them up used from the boys that can afford a new bow every year. Get a quality bow at a price I can afford.
Dont know on the bow would have to shoot some more. Definatly a Spot Hogg on the sight. Trophy Taker rest. Golp Tip pro shafts. Muzzys for broadheads and a Scott little bitty goose for a release. That would be my hunting rig.
Now for the target bow?? Just learning about this aspect so dont know.

RE: Dream Set-Up

I'm hoping to get mine pretty soon...2006 Hoyt ProTec w/ XT 3000 limbs. I am thinking trophy taker Drop Zone on the rest, Trophy Taker Mantis V-Drive sight, NAP Crossfire 125 broadheads, Carbon Express arrows, Scott Sabertooth release. I already have the release and broadheads from my current rig, but I am really liking the ProTec, so hopefully when the tax return comes through, it will be mine

RE: Dream Set-Up

I put it together last month: 2006 BowTech Allegiance, 29" 70# in Realtree Hardwoods HD, Spot-Hogg Hunter Hogg-It sight, APA Safari Twister rest and 6" Stealth stabilizer finished in matching Hardwoods HD.

I was actually thinking sorta along your lines; I wasn't going to spare any expense in putting together my "dream bow"...

Got mine 2 weeks ago. Hoyt Trykon XL, Trophy Taker drop away rest w/micros, TruGlo 5 Pin sight w/micros, and a Fuse Stabilizer for hunting(I use a homemade stabilizer for comp. use). A nice quitefast and accurate bow, with the trimmings.

RE: Dream Set-Up

So far I can't think of one thing I would change. Well, I take that back, I think my 60 and 70 yard pins should be changed to .019 instead of .029. I enjpy researching, so if I ever find something to change my mind, I will be replacing it.

Since you said "money no object", I would have to go with the custom Moon bow.
Battleship strong, best limbs, and among the best components available.

But could they get it to look a little better? ;)

You know, sorta like your Merlins -- at least they're beautiful while simultaneously being well-crafted.

RE: Dream Set-Up

Nothing much better looking or built like my Accu-Riser II, imo. ;)
But it's not an idea hunting bow.
The Moon looks good to me but understand why some guys don't think so.
Actually, no long riser parallel limbtype bow looks as good as a classic style Merlin, Bowman, or Barnsdale bow, jmo.

RE: Dream Set-Up

I've always been about getting a bargain, and doing some stuff to personalize the weapon, from the '70s when it was guns, to now, when it is bows. Anywho...

2005 McPherson Edge (bought at less than 1/2 retail)
B2 Original Biscuit (so far shooting as well as my bow with a drop away)
Copper John Dead Nuts Hunter
Sims Enhancer 2000 and S-Coil with Alpha Shox
Dream setup? Include ACCs and new Muzzy Broadheads
Might go to a smooth finish all carbon instead. Gotta decide.

I am close. Love the Patriot, workin on accessories. BUT maybe next year I may have my dream setup. Hopefully I see an Elite E-500 in my hands late this year or early next year. Too many features on this bow have me drooling.

Cougar mag, When I read the title of this thread the elite line-up and the features they are offering popped into my head too.
Their website says their bows now come dipped in a ruberized coating!!

The E-force is more up my alley though.

If they'd just get a dealer in Texas (somewhat close to my locale) I'd be all over one.

I'd love to have an Indo-Persian composite bow. Sinew backed bamboo with water buffalo horn on the belly. Takes three years to make one and costs about $2,800.

gibblet 03-04-2006 02:28 PM

RE: Dream Set-Up

man arthur, that is 1 sweet looking bow. i guess you like those deflex risers :D

Hoyt08 03-29-2006 08:23 PM

RE: Dream Set-Up

Mine would be a Bowtech Equalizer, very fast, for the bow. A HHA optimizer sight. A Muzzy Zero Effect Rest. A Stealth Stabalizer. Easton ACC for arrows. And Magnus Stinger 4 Blade 85 gr broadheads
