Well just what I expected is another bow manufacture that disregards the long draw archers. No 36 AtoA bows with 32 inch draws. Oh well I guess that I will just have to wait.

Brian<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' size=2 id=quote>

Brian I think the problem is simply an engineering one. It's not that any one specific manufacturer has something against long draw shooters. It's simply that they cannot get those draw lengths with the brace heights, amount of reflex, and limb angles they are using for the configuration.

At any rate it does look like the new Pro-38 singlecam is running 36.5&quot; and hits 32&quot; draw.

I'm not sure which specs post you looked at but the 2003 Pro 38 has a 36.6875&quot; ATA and draw lengths of 27-32&quot; So, you may not have to wait after all. They should start start shipping around Dec. 1st or so, if you're interested.

Edit, Sorry I was typing at the same time as Jeff evidentally.

RE: Well, here's what's new from BowTech for 2003...

Jeff,

The first recurve I bought was the Dakota Recurve by Rick Welch. He, imo, is the greatest traditional shooter of all time.
14 world titles and 70 state titles traveling across the country.
My second was a Sley Recurve by Pat Ley It is Cocobolo/Bocote riser and Bamboo limbs.
My first ordered recurve finally arrived this past Saturday. Took 16 months. It is a Trails End by Dale Dye. Bocote Riser, Cocobolo center stripe, with pierce point inserts and Bamboo limbs.
It's really fancy and the most expensive bow I own.
To some, the Trails End is the &quot;Holy Grail&quot; of Recurves.
That's why the wait is so long.
Morrison is a fine bow also.
Like the Long Bows too but just perfer Recurves a little better for now.
Sorry for getting off topic, guys.

Sag.

Okay Bowtech Shooter,

I finally have to post to this short thread ....<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

You said, &quot; They are having their strings made to their new and improved standards ...&quot; What, exactly, are the new and improved standards? The WC on my '03 Pat would be hard to beat, I would think. Can you elaborate on that?

Thanks.

Winger

I wonder if the Winner's Choice company would be able to produce the quantity of strings and cables needed to keep up with the demand once the production starts. I don't know how big WC is or how many work there but maybe it's a production issue that may prevent everyone from getting their bow but me<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.

RE: Well, here's what's new from BowTech for 2003...

Winger, I don't have all the specifics. I'm told that the BowTech R&D has done some testing and came up with a string that meets or exceeds the specs of a W/C string. That's all I know for sure. Let it be known I'm a huge fan of W/C strings myself. I really can't imagine that the BowTech R&D would lessen the quality of the bows by using a string that won't stand up to the test of all of us critics. If it's unclear about what I posted I had also said that some bows will still have a W/C string but they're not marketing it as any one manufacturer's string. If they have them made by W/C and XXX and ABCD string manufacturers it will be marketed as a BowTech string. I hope that clears the issue up some.

445 supermag, Glad to make a big man happy...Well I'm assuming your a pretty big fellow with a 32&quot; draw.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

FWIW, You'd also get a free hat from BowTech if you buy a BowTech bow. All you'd have to do is send in the warranty card (or register the bow online) and you even get a choice a Free Hat or a Free Grunt Call...

Can't wait to read the report when you post it...

I cannot say much about what the plans of bow tech are for the 03 strings, but I can assure you that Winner's Choice has much more than enough production capibility to supply the demand of Bow Tech as well as our other customers such as Forge, PSE, and over 900 dealers nation wide. ( Forge will be using Winner's Choice as standard equipment in 2003 and PSE has them availble in their catalog). We have 17 employees in 2 locations with lots of room to grow if nesisary. the fact is, We have met every shipping deadline from Bow tech with time to spare. I guess my point is if you don't get your bow it is not because they don't have strings if they come from Winner's Choice.

Hey thanks Pat,
Yep I took a nice buck last night with my Brandy new Patriot.....Hows that for a turn around. Bing bang boom and she's sighted in and hunting 24 hours later. The deer didn't seem to mind that fresh &quot;Shipping Box&quot; cover scent. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Seriously, The bow is awesome......always knew that , but this is the first time I've actually gotten to shoot one IN MY DRAW LENGTH. Before I was squeezing down into a 28&quot; draw. This is the first bow that I've shot that has the same feel to the shot at 28&quot; as it does at my 30&quot;. The extra power stroke does nothing to increase recoil, and vibration is non-existant.
I have it set-up with a GKF &quot;Premier&quot; rest, a Copper John sight, A Shorty GK &quot;Tranquilizer&quot; out front, and a 4&quot; Stealth in the rear. (Would have liked a Stealth out front but don't have one that balances as good), Also has the &quot;Hush Kit&quot;, SIMS slide, loop and a &quot;Super Hunter&quot; tru-peep.
You should have seen me the afternoon I got it scrambling to get it ready for yesterdays hunt......probably looked like one of those fast action &quot;Benny Hill&quot; chase scenes. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

There's still a few days left to use the $50 BowTech rebate on 2002 models!.........I know I know, the 2003's are coming, well I have a 2003 Dual Cam Patriot coming myself but I had to take advantage of the deal on the single cam &quot;Infinity&quot; version as it will be very similar 2003's but less expensive.......if you are planning on a 2003 single, you may want to snatch up one of the remaining 2002's and save a few bucks on the best<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> hunting bow of 2002.

Stringer, thanks for the reassurance that I read in your post. Seems as though every BowTech owner has had the same opinion as I have about the great quality strings and cables that your company puts out. If BowTech can top the quality of Winner's Choice strings, I'll have to see it to believe it. The average consumer IMO doesn't often put much thought into where the products come from and the people that produce them. Everything we purchase is made by someone that is trying to make a living and to provide for their family. I allways think about a company and wonder how big they are and the number of employees that work there. This string issue has a few worried and I was just thinking of a reason why there might not be WC products on every BowTech. Thanks for letting us know that when we need a quality replacement or custom product you will be there. Russ.

BowTech_Shooter, Can you give me some input on the Pro 38 or should I say 36 LOL. Just some spects on the bow and if you have any personal experience with it? I would appreciate that very much. How it shoots recoil vibration speed etc. Not too worried about the speed as I have a 32 inch draw verified by Len in MD But what is it. What has changed from last years model? Is it smoother quieter or what? thanks for anything you have.

I must admit, I RARELY visit the Bowhunting Forum. However it's not due to laziness..

As much as I am into the tech aspects of archery itself..when it comes to hunting I like to keep it simple...like my fishing...and oftentimes many of the Bowhunting forums (at various sites) just get way too much into all the &quot;tech&quot; aspects of the actual hunting process for my tastes...BtoD ratios, crops and planting, deer management, scientific breakdowns of the rut..while allof that is interesting, I jsut don't care much to participate.

I find that when I personally start getting too &quot;tech&quot; about the actual hunting aspect, I begin to not enjoy it very much...

I don't know if that makes sense, but....

Brian,

Obviously I'm not Pat (BTS) <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>, but I might be able to help you some.

As I understand it (and I believe this thread is where Pat explained it), the 2003 P-38 will have a bit more brace, and a bit more more angle to the limbs...as you mentioned this should amke it shoot a bit smoother. Also the riser will be a bit refined to make it balance a bit better, and shed a few ounces.

Now that being said, I have a 2002 P-38...well not exactly..It's actually a 2002 Generation 3.2 Model that I took the force multipler off of. With a new string and cable, VOILA! Instant P38 option two!

This is the bow I'm hunting with this year. Honestly I was expecting it to be noticeably louder and have more recoil/vibration than my Patriot did. The difference is not that great..quite small, actually. The P-38 is very quiet, and recoil/vibe is low. It's also quite accurate and forgiving. w/ 29&quot; modules at 60% letoff (29&quot; AMO) and it shoots a 370 grain arrow at 278 FPS (2 leeches, a string loop, and tru-peep on the string). This is at 61 pounds peak weight.

With the greater brace and a bit more VFT, it should shoot even more smoothly.

Hope that helps some..

EDIT: I had also listed an arrow weight of 340 grains in the above sentence but no speed...that arrow shot 288 FPS. Sorry if that was confusing.

I live just north of Alvo, east of Lincoln about 18 miles. Maybe I'll see you at the banquet in March? Maybe by then I will have seen the pictures of the new BT line and make my choice between the BKII and the DC Pat. Good luck hunting, I know the deer in your area won't be lucky with you guys around<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>, Russ.
