RE: Whats the deal with the 05 Allegiance?
"The broadheads were diving down and to the right."
Which broad heads are you using? Just move the rest up and to the left, this is the direction the nock of the arrow is being "thrown". Go in small increments to try to resolve the problem, you might try stiffer arrows also. |

RE: Whats the deal with the 05 Allegiance?
My Allegiance tuned very well with broadheads with little work. I shoot mechanicals primarily, but do use fixed blade muzzy's while tuning to assure the best tune. After tuning with field points and mechs, I was surprised to see my fixed heads grouping very close to everything else. A little adjustment and it was perfect out to 45 yards.
Mizzouki, The replacement strings really shocks me. I would think that for the most part, the WC strings would actually shoot better once they settle. I never had that type of problem with WC, though I haven't replaced my strings on my Allegiance yet. |
RE: Whats the deal with the 05 Allegiance?
I own an 05 allegiance , field tips and broadheads hit together . Im useing a Trophy Taker shakey hunter rest . I believe the problem you are haveing is related to the rest you are useing . Trapdoor rests drop very quickly , to fast IMO for proper fixed broadhead flight . The 05 allegiance bows have a massive centershot , which is offset from the center of the grip . This can cause left to right issues , but up and down issues are generaly an easy fix with nockpoint adjustment , if you have tryed this , and thats not the case , I would assume its a rest problem . I have heard of noone with cam timeing issues , or up and down nock travel issues with these bows. I doubt you have missmatched limbs , but its posable . Try another rest .

ijimmy, what is your draw weight, arrow specs, and centershot measurement off the riser?

RE: Whats the deal with the 05 Allegiance?
kilnbux , I shoot 28"s at 60 lbs , a 28 inch 400 spine beman matrix shaft , around 400 grains with 5" feathers and a 100 grain muzzy . Im not 100 % on the centershot as Im at work and the bows home , but I believe its very close to 1" . The bow shoots around 260 fps + .
Two other things I thought of that may help you are 1 Make sure you are useing enough fletching , I like 3 , 5" feathers or 4 , 4" feathers , and 2 Bottom out both limb bolts , and take one turn out of the bottom limb and see if that helps . |
RE: Whats the deal with the 05 Allegiance?
Not every bow is a clone. Some have slight deviations in manufacturing. Are the cams aligned? Have you checked for any slight twists in a limb? There are many things that can cause poor broadhead flight. Unless no one with this bow can get a broadhead to fly like a fieldtip, then I would bet it's not the bow design.

have an 05 and have shot 2000+ arrow through it and no probs......my Muzzy's shot right with my field tips.....shoot Carbon Express CXL's, 28 inch draw @ 60 lbs.....make sure your arrows have enough spine for what you are shooting.......my buddy bought some Bemans on Ebay and can't hold a group to save his rear........went back to shooting his Easton's and no probs......might try different arrows.....just a thought

RE: Whats the deal with the 05 Allegiance?
Sorry about that last post, working on how to get the "quote feature" to work. I meant to copy..."I shoot 28"s at 60 lbs , a 28 inch 400 spine beman matrix shaft , around 400 grains with 5" feathers and a 100 grain muzzy ." and say, "WHAT A GREAT SET UP! I love those shafts. Have 2 dozen 400s and 2 dozen 340s in my garage, since they are discontinued. ..As I posted before, I had NO problems with my allegiance, until I changed the string. I now have it tweaked back to the original length and things are much better. It took some work. THis is a great bow. I love the back wall. I actually am a big fan of the bowtech duallys, having owned patriot and pro 40 duallys. I had a custom type of dually made up that shoots like crazy. It isthe best shooting bow that I have put my hands o. It is an allegiance with bkII cams. It has a super solid back wall and really shoots nice. The ata comes out to be longer than the allegiance with binary cams.....
