Default Bitzenburger issues

I'm having trouble with my Bitzenburger fletching jig that I just got. The problem is that when I fletch my arrows (3 vanes set with the 120* set screw all the way in and the others out) I still end up with 2 of the fletchings closer together then they should be. I don't understand how this is possible as if the jig is working correctly it should place the vanes every 120* around the shaft. Anyone have a similar issue / fix?
Thanks!
Adam

I have never had that problem. As you know, you can vary the settings for number of vanes and vane spacing on this jig. I don't have my user directions handy, but you may be set somewhere between the three vane/120 degree setting and the four vane/90 degree or four vane 60/120 degree settings. Wouldn't hurt to double check your setting..

Another thing you can check is to make sure one of the detent balls isn't stuck. Take the whole thing apart and clean it. Do this over a towel so you don't lose any balls, set screws or springs. Re-assemble it, make sure everything moves freely and then check it on a bare shaft. Just make some marks on the shaft when you index the nock and see if that helps. I had a Bitz that was about 15 years old and it got a little oxidized causing the same problem.
