Well for one, I don't apreciate being called a yahoo, or having it insinuated. I don't know if that was the way you meant it, but that is the way I took it. You are comparing me to someone else and then calling them a yahoo.

I set the rest up myself according the instructions that came with it. Just like I have all the other rests I've owned and had no problems with. I don't normally let others install things on my bow or try and tune it for me. I looked and the one I have varies slightly from what you have. Mine was on top of the shelf when it rested so there was some clearance issues if not set up properly. I did not mean to apply that you would have fletching contact now matter way. Sorry if that is the way I made it sound.

I sort of worded that wrong. I didn't mean to say I had fletching contact. I meant that it could be an issue if you didn't follow the directions or pay attention. I set it up according to the directions and it worked for the most part after tweaking it. It did place the arrow higher than what I like to see and this was because of the arm for the arrow holder. It even explained this in the directions. With the ones that sit behind the shelf I doubt this would be a problem. Of course you are using a slight overdraw this way like most other drop aways.

It actually worked fairly well for me unitl the screws stripped out. I am one of those guys that likes to tinker with things. I change set ups and arrows frequently and re-tune my bow. First one screw hole went, I re-tapped it and used a bigger srew. Then the other one went, so I took it off the bow and got a different rest to play with. And it didn't happen within minutes of installing it. I probably had the rest for about a month before it happened. I was bare shaft tuning with a different set of arrows. I doubt it was my lack of tool usage knowledge since I used to be an automechanic and then an aircraft mechanic in the military. I think I can figure out how to not over torque an allen srew. Never had a problem with any of the other rests I own. And they all use simular screws. The version I have looks to be made of some pretty soft aluminum. It's light, but didn't hold up very well. I really don't care for the design either, even the newer ones.

If you like yours, that's fine. I was only saying I had a simular product and I didn't have very good luck with it. I own and have tried quite a few rests. I think there are better rests on the market. That is my opinion, nothing more. I have heard people say they don't like the muzzy and it's hard to use and install. I think it's great and if you can't figure out how to put one on you probably shouldn't be messing with it any way. I thought it was pretty simple myself. To each his own I guess.

Whoa there big fella... I guess I can see how you took it the wrong way with the way I worded it, my bad. Your no yahoo, just the guy a this local shop my friend wanted to check out. All he did was bad mouth other shops and quality gear, not to professional, in my opinion! Sorry for the misunderstanding! I'm not here to make enemies! Good luck.

I didn't figure you meant it that way, I was sort of messing with you on that one. That was a bit of stretch wasn't it. I changed my original post to something a bit better as well. I don't really think this rest was a piece of crap, that was bit rash of me. I just didn't have very good luck with it. However it was the original design and I am sure they have tweaked it a bit. It actually shot quite well for me until those screw holes went out on me. I will say this for it. It the absolute most quiet rest I have had as far as drawing arrows acrossed it. And the holder was pretty slick. I see they changed that as well. Mine only has one arm.

I know the type of people you are talking about though. Like the shop owner that told me if I used a 125 grn tip would blow right thru a deer when a 100 grn wouldn't. Even if you added weight to the shaft to to make up the difference. No matter how much you explained the concept to him he stuck by what he said.

Its all good Paul!!!!! I did some digging and my one buddy has the SME rest and it did change a bit when VBG took it over, hopefully for the better! I was a bit worried about the bit of foam they put underneath but works pretty well for me. Good Luck, sorry for hijacking the original thread...oops.;):D:D:D

look into the mirage by golden key archery---alot of your top notch hunters use it.i got one on my bow and love the thing.total arrow clearance.

I have tried a pile of drop away rests with little success. Most couldn't touch what my BoDoodle Pro-Lite was doing for me. Until yesterday that is. I put a RipCord drop away on the bow, and man what a rest! I love the way it locks in the up position if you want it to, or just draw the bow and it will pull the rest up into position. Fully contained or remove the arm, either way it is nearly impossible to lose the arrow off the rest. Want to take the rest down out of the "cocked" postion? Pull the rope ever so gently and the rest will drop right down. It is the most accurate and easy to set up drop away I have tried. Cord clamps to the cable, and if you follow the instructions, you can be shooting in short order. Two thumbs up for me on this one boys!

i use a cobra diamondback I love it and I shoot 280ft per sec
