Here's a more respectful picture of the buck. I'll post pictures of the mount as soon as it's ready.

Thanks. My buddies and I have recently discussed this. And, with vatiations in weather, mast crop, etc...you aren't always going to have huge racks. So the goal should be to get a mature buck. It's the ultimate challenge, and most years the mature buck IS going to have a nice set of antlers.

That one is an 8600. The 8400 is the same only it has the offest shoulder. I really like the offset shoulders cuz it shows more body.... Yeah alotof people don't think about it when they have a deer they are going to mount. See people drag it out with ropes tied around the neck. Worst thing to do is drag them behind a fourwheeler. If you go over alot of logs and ruff terrain the hair on the point of shoulder will wear off or break. Also breaking allows blood to leech into the hair and stains the hairs. Did this one this year that was drug like that that had hair on both shoulders really broke and stained. Tried to tuck it and blend as best I could.Had alot of tick damage on the chest as well. This is an 8400 only its a 23 inch B. Customer didn't even care and thinksthe mount is great which is good I guess.WCL

I drug it about 100 yards to the 4 wheeler. We heeved it on the rack of the 4 wheeler and rode it home. No dragging behind a 4 wheeler. I wouldn't do that to a doe.

Yeah thats what I was getting at. Just don't understand why people choose to drag their trophy behind a fourwheeler when they can just through it up on the rack. Haha just don't make sense but alot of people do it. Sounds like ya took good care of him. Yeah draggin by hand doesnt hurt the cape but behind a motor vehicle it does alot of the time. WCL

I built a nice trailer to pull behind my 4 wheeler. It's the ticket! Haul my gear in with it, and haul my deer out in it. Plus, it's alot lower to the ground, so I can just drag my deer up on it easily, instead of trying to load him up on the rack, which was my old method.
