Default Selling old mounts.

Has anyone ever sold older mounts of stuff you didnt want anymore? did you regret it? I have 3 big game mounts , a 115" 10pt, a 3/4 black bear and the hog in my avatar. All of them meant alot to me at the time ,but Ive taken better specimens since, and the work ,although OK, is not as good as some of the stuff Ive seen here and else where. The bucks cape has drag marks, which didnt bother me at the time but now looks a liitle raggedy, and I wish I had spent a little more and got the bear done in a rug, instead of the 3/4 mount. The hog is actually is the best quality of the 3, but just looks a little tackey for the way my wife and I have the house currently decorated(More my opinion than hers). We are having a big community yard sale next month and I was thinking that would be the best place to sell them, even though Ill probably only be able to get 50$ -100$ each, which is better than I got offered on ebay for the hog which would barely cover shipping. Not really looking for advice(although it would be apprieciated) just wondering what others thoughts are on the subject? Thanks

Personally, I would not sell any of my trophies... if the deer mount is old and not that great... at least keep the rack..

what are drag marks on the deer?
From when I dragged it out of the woods.

Yeah the deer would be kind of hard to part w/ cause it was my 1st decent rack buck, but that cape looks like crap ,and whats worse is the drag marks are on the side, the head is turned towards. other than that its a decent mount I guess, and its only about 7 years old. I might keep that and the bear maybe. I would love to donate the bear to the visitor center of the state pk where I shot it but they dont display mounts they said.

You can just get the cape replaced or have the mount redone. I wouldn't get rid of anything.

I wouldn't get rid of any of them...that being said.. I doubt you'll get much for the buck...maybe $30.... the bear, with the right buyer you might get a lil money. The hog..... well I've got two mounts of them for free that I put in my barn, not many people pay for a hog mount. I would just keep them if I were you, they are a part of your hunting past...or give them to someone that knows you and wants them, that way they don't just go to waste.... just my 2 cents.

Yeah, you might not find the right buyer at a yard sale and would definitely get low-balled. Hell, I'd give you $50 for the buck with an agreement that you could buy it back if you ever regretted it.
