Default Taxidermy Info...

Hey guys was wanting to get into. mounting some deer. I have no idea where to start thou. Dont really have the time or money to go to school. Was wondering if there were some good videos I could get, that would show me how plus give me all the info. on what I'll need and have to do. I live in southern WV, and we only have a couple around. Dont really want to do it full time. I have a full time job but only work 3 days a week, was wanting to do some taxi. work on the side. I'm very serious about this so any info. or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

I started with these videos and now have a very successful part-time business.
These videos were a good start....and teaches you using the dry preservative method. I then bought videos and learned how to tan the hides myself.

From there, I attended formal training with Joe Meder and the rest is history.

Do a search for your states taxidermy association and join. Use it to find someone near you who will teach you. Where in southern WV are you?

First of all thanks for the info., I live in Logan County and I talked to one local guy, who didnt act like he really wanted to help. Not interested in taking his work, I just love everything about deer hunting and mounts and thought this would be a good way to make a little extra money. Again thanks for all the info...
