Default How to keep a pheasant for mounting

I would like to geta pheasant mounted this year. After I shoot one what should I do with it until I can get it to my taxidermist?

Put it in a woman's stocking (nylon) to keep all the feathers in place and in the correct direction. Then, if you need to freeze it for a long period, put some damp paper towels around the feed to keep them hydrated. Wrap the bird in a dry towel for cushioning, then in plastic, tape it and put it in the freezer.
