i live in southern illinois and im looking for a taxidermist that will do a good job on a caribou and is within about a 300 mile radius. i know there are plenty of taxidermists that have caribou on their price lists but that doesnt necessarily mean they can do a good job with one. i would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a good experience with any taxidermists that do caribou. thanks!!!

The thing I'd recommend is to contact the Illinois Taxidermy Association and find one of their members. I know of some great ones in NC but can't really recommend any there. But I also would check out more than a one or two, find one that you like their work and get along with. Also ask for references and check them, there are some bad taxi's out there. If worse comes to worse, send it to NC. Hope it helps

thanks....i figured that's what i would have to do...just hoped i could skip a few steps and get a good reference on here....no biggie....i know a guy in MI who can do a good job but he is 12 hours away. cape is safely in the freezer anyway so i have time to look. thanks again!
