i found a buck skull the other day. its a nice six point. I was wondering how to clean it up. My dad's friend said to boil it, scrape off all the meat/hide/hair, and then soak it in bleach and water. But i really dont have any way of boiling it, but i want to make sure its clean on this inside and outside. I know that its about a year old, because i saw the dead buck last winter, but couldnt get near it because of the smell.
Any suggestons? Im not going to mount it or anything, but i would like to clean it up so i can hang it in the garage, ya know?
thanks!

Then You need to put the skull in water in a plastic bucket, and carried far from the house and just let it rot in the water, do not submerge the horns.
It will stink but you will get the job done. Make sure you cover it with burlap or some other material and then tie it to a tree or something ,so that critters wont eat it or steal it.
Then you can wash it of with a degreaser and put hydrogen peroxide on it and place it in the sun until it is bleach white.

Put the skull in boiling water and let it sit in the water for around a half hour to an hour. Then take a sharp knife and scrape off all the remaining hide and flesh. Then place cotton all over the skull and soak it in Hydrogen peroxide for 24 hours. After this is over the skull will be nice and white. Take your time in scraping and cleaning the skull as much as you can it will make the skull a lot nicer

soak it in peroxide and water a day..find a nice pot that you can set the skull into..fill it about 3/4 of water and a 1/4 of peroxide..she'll come out nice and white like my 6X6 i found..
