Default Muskrat trapping

Hey.does anyone have anyadvice about trapping muskrat in frozen water? i have two #1 traps set. the water is not completely frozen over where my traps are set.I used a cubby set and an apple as bait. It is also supposed to rain in a few days. Will i have better luck catching a muskrat in the rain? Or will the cold water keep them from comming out at all?
