Techno Hunt Question
Hey guys. I'm new to target archery. Me and my friend Jarrod have been shooting at our local 3D range and have been shooting video alot lately. We have also joined a video league. But I was wondering. Ive been averaging between 215-235 out of 300 is this good for someone just starting out?

RE: Techno Hunt Question
Well I'm not sure if I shoot on the exact same set up but..my average is usually a little below 8 or so. On our system a vital shot is an 8 and the highest average ever at the shop was 8.32 which is damn good! No idea about my total scores though, guess that depends on how long you shoot.

RE: Techno Hunt Question
Eli,
Sounds like your event scoringwas 10,8,5,0 and you shot 30 targets, correct? Under this system your scores are GREAT for just starting out. As you get more comfortable with the locations of the vital areas you will move up to the 250-270 range. Once you start to be able to accurately judge distances you will see your scores move up once again. Distance estimation is the KEY to 3D! There are a lot of shooters who can stand and hit a spot of known distance all day long, its coming up with the distance on your own that is the challenge of 3D. Plus, there isnt a colored dot to aim at! You are doing fine, keep practicing and have some fun.
