Stools---the kind you set on....

Why carry them? I mean really, Anybody ive ever seen that carries one, NEVER uses it for its intended purpose,Just seems like extra hassle to me.
GMMAT, is the only person ive ever seen to put one to use... He sets his bow on it while he goes to pull arrows.

I could see it's use for the bigger shoots where there are very big backups (Matt/PA mentioned sometimes having to wait 30minutes plus at a target for the shooters to move through). If it's a day of 30+ targets with 15-30 minute waits in between each you are going to get a bit exhausted, and I'm sure it would effect your shooting. Smaller events, I don't know. I'm in shape, I lift a lot, I run, I damn sure better be able to stand around for a 3 hour afternoon. HOWEVER, take what I say with a grain of salt, as I've never shot a 3d comp, so I wouldn't know the effect of standing around for long periods of time before shooting, but to me, it seems I would do ok. What GMMAT uses his for is a nice idea though, set the bow and quiver down while you go retrieve arrows.

Aaron, I was using one when we all shot together.
When the weather gets warmer, and you tire quicker, you will see them used more often. They are also easier to tote things around with you.

Aaron-
I thought the same thing, but I seen how handy Jeff's was and I had to have one. I used 2" pvc pipe and wrapped with black electrical tape. It is very handy to keep up with everything. I had both releases, binos, puller, wax, range finder and our arrows in the stooll. Now I can grab both bows and the stool and go. I stole that stool out of Dad's building, but it said FLW on it, so I'm assuming it came from walwart.

I keep in my stool:
arrow lube
glasses case/glasses
shooter's belt
Binos in their case
snack
I HATE the hip quiver slapping up against my leg while retrieving arrows. So....I'd use it for that reason alone. When it gets hot....and there are backups.....I'll love it. Or....if it's hot and there are backups.....I may go home

Man, you guys are something. 35 years I've been on the trail and wondered some of these things myself. Now I'm seeing the light---and still learning.

Never used one, have never sat down on a 3D course but there were times I wish I could have.
Unlike Jeff, that quiver disappears on my side. I think carrying that stool would be more of a pain in the ass than my side quiver but could see the need. I'd bet I'd like the stool.
