Trade Texas Quail and or Hog Hunts for?
Well it looks like the way things are going to work out I am not going to get to do much quail hunting on my new property. It is only 160 acres but there are several good sized coveys of quail on the place. It has some pretty thick cover so hunting with a good dog would for sure be the way to go, but you could probably manage to flush some coveys on foot if you wanted to put in some serious walking and had more than 1 guy.
It is in Fisher county, Texas and according to a big sign on the interstate, Fisher county is the quail capital of Texas. I have only seen bob white quail on my property, no blue quail. Season runs October 27-February 24. Daily bag limit: 15 Possession limit: 45. Deer season closes January 6th so anytime from then until the end of the season would be fine with me.
I also have lots of hogs on the property. There are plenty of good eating sized pigs:
And a few larger boars:
I would let you shoot as many as you could shoot in the days you were there. No limit at all.
I have raccoons that you would be more than welcome to trap or shoot as well.
Also some coyotes and other predators that could be thrown into the mix.
Not sure what something like this would be equivalent to swap for. I have a nice 31' travel trailer on the corner of the property with electricity and septic system with municipal water hooked up to stay in.
Would be interested in swapping a deer hunt next year or something else of similar value. I would prefer this to be a 1 or 2 person hunt (which is about what my 160 acres would be good for) but have no real preference on 2 days vs. 5 days, etc.
Non-resident license requirements are as follows:
Non-resident 5-Day Special Hunting (Type 157): $45
Legal for any period of 5 consecutive days (valid hunting dates will be printed on the license when issued). Valid to hunt: Exotic animals, all legal game birds (except turkeys), all nongame animals, squirrel, javelina and alligator (not valid for other game animals, NOT VALID FOR DEER). Stamp endorsement requirements apply.
(This would be good for quail, hogs, coyotes and raccoons)
This would be a non-guided hunt and would simply be me meeting you on the property, showing you around and leaving. You would be responsible for cooking your own meals, etc. The nearest decent sized town is about 25 miles away.
Please send me an email or PM if you are interested.

Got nothing to swap but might have some cash if you need a little bit to chase hogs! I guess a mess of quail would be nice in the skillet too!
