Want to Hunting in Australia.
I probably won’t ever make it up north in return but fingers crossedand it doesn’t matter that much to me anyway.
I have Just started hunting Sambar in the Victorian state forests it’s a pretty good deal all that you need is a AU$41.90 licence and to hunt from overseas a additional AU$100 temp firearms licence. Accommodation is a tent and in winter it’s in the snow and Sambar are damn hard to find and then it’s usually a 3 second glimpse before they ghost off into the undergrowth the new spot I have clamed as my spot is blessedly open by comparison and not as steep as most places.
We also have access to a 200,000ac property in QLD at AU$60 pp per day (exclusive access) covered in things too shoot with good numbers of Pigs and Goats are making a comeback and the accommodation is a great air-conditioned quarters. The cost is lots more about AU$1000 (about US$700-750), my Mate is a pilot and he hires a plane and we fly up from Sydney in about 3 hours as opposed to a 17 hour drive both ways we also hire a truck from the owner and with a full kitchen we eat good and get to sleep in beds in our own room.
We do this at cost so that we can afforded to go more often and more people make it cheaper all round this is “not a guide service” we all take turns cooking and we all shoot and we stay for about a week and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
