Default Australia hunting

I am presently down in Griffith NSW and looking for hunting opportunities. Any hunters from down under frequent this board?

Have a good one!

I was born just west of Goulburn but I have lived in SA, VIC and QLD as well but I’m living between Braidwood and Queanbeyan at the moment.

I live about 3 hours from there. Around that area there are lots of hunting properties there not game farms but working properties that supplement there income by renting hunting rights. Have a look at http://www.havagoaustralia.com.au and http://www.outdoorhuntingadventures.com.au/index_files/Page1876.htm they both have plenty of properties on there books. Other then that when I get my PTA back and pick up my new rifle I will be heading down south after the big southern deer in the VIC state forests and would be happy to take you along.

Well if you decide to come along then this is what we would be going after.
It’s a nice little Sambar Buck that a mate of mine got last year there the Holy Grail of Aussi deer and I’m looking forward to bagging my first as soon as that damn PTA gets back.

Hey Rem, I used to be onthe Deer Hunter forum out of Vic but the site folded, are there any sites you would recommend checking out. Iliked talking tohunters fromOz , considering what has/was happening there is a mirror image of what has/was going on in Canada....I was under the impression that sambar are about the size of the N. America elk.

Yep they are that was a little one shot for meat and they are notoriously hard to kill there is a legal minimum calibre requirement of 270cal with a 51mm case to hunt them in VIC. I think that it should be 264 cal myself and that’s why I had to go and buy a new rifle just to hunt them. (375H&H)

And the deer hunters site apparently got hacked by anti’s and they stuffed it up so bad that it got shut down.
But on the bright side I just got told that my PTA’s in the mail so with any luck I should be out after my first Sambar in the next few weeks.
