Default Checking on a Dog

I had posted earlier in the week about getting a dog.
I am really considering getting a Chessie this summer. There is a breeder that I have come across that seems to be good. I was wondering how you can check the pedigree by the dogs name or number. Here is the stud dogs name, and the number also and other information. Any of you guys that know how to check this kind of thing i would appreciate it. Thanks

There's no way to check a pedigree for free -- I did look him up on the OFA website ( www.offa.org ) and see that he is OFA Good on hips and CERF normal/clear on eyes.

You can go to AKC and it cost about $10 to get the pedigree.

Any good breeder shoulld be able to show you both the sire and the dams pedigrees along with any hunt test that they have done and how well they did. The next step for you should be to speak with other people that have gotten pups from this breeder. Then go hunt behind the sire and the dam if possible. If should be possible to hunt behind at least the dam. Only reason not to would be if she has just whelped or is close to whelping.
