Default Vizsla Breeders?

I am looking to purchase a Vizsla for my wife and I. I want a family dog that hunts and she wants a dog that has short hair and is good with people. We have narrowed it down to a Vizsla. The problem is we want to buy from a breeder and we are having trouble finding was in New Jersey or surrounding area (we live in Northern New Jersey). Any help would be appreciated. We would also consider a rescue dog.

mpemt24, i am also from bergen county and maybe i can help you out. this might be old info. but try it by going to the nj federated sportsmen news if you have one. classified section has a listing for burjans kennel & game farm, inc. 524 old york rd. three bridges, flemington nj 08822 call danny @908-806-4868. he trains and raises german shorthairs, but his wife was raising vizslas at the time i was there. this is a starting point contact me if you need more ideas. i would stay away from a vizsla rescue at this point in your search. bob in wyckoff

Thanks Bob,
I have been to their website a few times and even sent emails last year. I tried the site a couple months ago and it said the farm was for sale and left no forwarding contact information. I will have to try the Federation of Sportsmen Club. I have been looking to join them, maybe this will get me to join.
Mike in Midland Park.

if you don't mind traveling to Frederick Maryland, try Bob Seelye, I dont personally know him, but have friends who have purchased and had him train thier Vizsla's and are very satisfied with the dogs and his work. His web site is www.cliffsidebirddogs.com. Good luck.
