hey everyone, i have a problem and was hoping you could help... i have a 1 y.o. female GSP and i cannot find a toy that she can't chew up in minutes... a buddy told me aout kong(already knew about them but never tried them). so i got the red kong, and gave it to Dixie to keep her out of troule while i was in the shower... she tore that up in a matter of 10 minutes!!! the i tried the lack x-treme kong, that lasted about 4 days. mind you, i only let her chew it for about 15-20 minutes at a time. i was told the lack Ultra-kongs were good, but i was wondering if you had any augestions for my monster! i eve got her a galvanized one (new thing) and she got through that in aout five "chew sessions". i guess i never have to worry aout any irds getting away from her right!

I have an AKC Golden, and a FDSB English Setter...both powerful chewers
I use the ultra kong, but put a little peanut butter inside first, They love the challenge of getting the peanut butter out, and spend more time problem solving than destroying...Good Luck!!

thanks... i use the peanut butter also... just a tip for that... it works well if you put peanut butter inside and then freeze it... they llike the coldness, and it takes longer for them to get it out! thanks though...

Just curious, Did you try the NYLABONES? and if you did how are they working? Also I wanted to tell you, my wife picked up some chew bones for our dog at Wal-mart the other day. They are made be Hartz. They look like they are made out of material like the nylabone durables but they have softer plastic nubs on the top and bottom of the bone. While my dog is slowly wearing the nubs away(which is what the nubs are supposed to do.), the hard part of the chew bone seems to be indestructable. Just thought I'd let you know.

Dixie loves NYLABONES, she can still tear them up though... i have given her the bone shaped one and the ball with the ridges on all the sides...i usually keep one of these, some tennis balls, a kong, a rope, and a soccer ball around for her, but only when she is supervised... i am a protective father
i am taking her up to the mountains tomorrow for spring break for a few days, so she will see snow for the first time... i can't wait, all my dogs have always LOVED the snow... thanks again for the suggestions...

I'm also a fan of Nylabones. Those Nylabone Big Chews, the Galileo, and the Souper sized Nylabone durables still up to a beating. Those regular bone shaped Nylabones are durable, but if your looking for a bone that'll stand up, try the Big Chews or the Galileo.
