I have a 6 year old male springer that I have owned for a little over a year. He hunts well but when retreiving he chews the birds. Is there any humane way to stop this? Thanks, TIm ([email protected])

i've been around springer's my whole life. my grandparents raised them way before i was born back in 75', mine just died and i tell you what, i don't think i will ever own another one. about the only thing more hard headed than a springer is a pittbull. other's may disagree, and i would have a few years back too, but they are just way too high strung and set in their ways for me. but to answer your question, wrap up a bird in aluminum foil.....make sure you have about 10 layers (enouph that he can't bite all the way through it) i tink this will work. have you ever bit into aluminum foil?? very irritating
