Springer spaniel is a good all around dog. Use for any game and also makes a good waterfowl dog. Can be easily trained and makes a wonderful companion. I used Gus for thirteen years on pheasants, quail, rabbits and waterfowl Two varieties, show and field. Field has shorter ears and their tail is shortened by 1/4 length instead of bobbing it. Legs slightly longer. He is now retired.

My Springer - Ranger Pete, turned 8 last May. I'm sure that in a few short years, he'll begin to show his age in the field. Until then, he is the best dog I have ever hunter over. Relentless, and always ready to hunt for me.
I would recommend a Springer for an all around great hunting dog, dedicated to his family and a very loving dog. I could not asked for more from him.
