i cant give toby any raw bones.he gets very aggressive and is dangerous if you get close to him.
wild animal in toby comes out when blood like in raw bone is present.
i used to have butcher cut marrow bones for him, NO MORE.

It's better not to given him weight bearing bones as it runs the risk of chipping the dog's teeth. In large animals, it's better to give ribs, neck or even the head. I don't think anything beats throwing a whole chicken down and watching to dog go to town.

The side benefit is you never have to brush the dog's teeth.

toby loves bones but i cant give him any.i used to get MARROW ones cut at butcher for .40 cents.his eyes would slant like a chinese person.boy, he got really WILD looking with bone.
i brush his teeth now every other day and tartar does not build up to bad.

not adding water to food helped a lot too.

This is a great question and you should do your research very carefully! Everyone is going to have their opinion but that does not mean it is the right food for your dog. I just lost my seven year old German Shephard to cancer and that is when I went searching for the cause. I came across a website on the internet that shocked me into disbelief that I probably had poisoned my dog to death and didn't even know it. Most dog foods are loaded with hidden poisons and other obsenities I still have a hard time grasping. I am going to give you the website address so you can read this report and learn what is really in commercial dog foods and you can make an educated decision like I did on which dog food to buy! I wish you all the best!

garett,

What was the name of the feed? What kind of dog do you have an what do you use it for? How much food do you need to feed your dog on a daily basis.

This whole equation of price per bag or even price per pound is something I've struggled with. I have found it economically more efficient to pay more and get a higher quality feed than pay less and get a lower quality food based on the fact that the dog doesn't need to eat as much of the higher quality feed. That said, my dogs are all way too spoiled. I think I'm spending about $ 50 per month per dog for food which is too much, but I just get too much enjoyment out of watching my dogs do cartwheels as the food bowl comes out.

The name of the food is Ever Pet Basics adult dry food.It is in a red bag at the dollar general. The dog has been fed this all its life and it is not fat but you cant see its ribs either. The dog is a 2 year old mountain cur that is used for coon and squirrel hunting.I feed my dog 3 cups of the feed each morning. The only problem I have seen is it causes him to use the bathroom a lot.

Dude, if it works for you don't change. I would venture to say that my dogs would need at least twice what you're feeding which would make for a nasty cleanup in the kennels.

If the piles aren't solid enough to pick up you should consider changing......

There is a product called rehydrate that is made for dogs, comes in tabs or powder, I usually give it to the dogs BEFORE activity (electrolytes during activity or dehrydration actually make dehydration worse in the short term) to load them before hand.....

Higehr fat or higher protein during season, agree that meat should be the first few ingrediants, stay away form corn as a first three or so ingrediant, also soybean protein is not as digestable for a dog, so if there is a lot of soybeen, the bag says and is higher in protein then what the dog has available to him.

Raw bones good, cooked bones bad,
