Hi,
Back in December I was getting my smoker going in the morning after a fresh few inches of snow I was doing some retreaving practice with my lab off the deck into the back yard. Well his foot stuck into the snow and there was about 2 inches of ice under the snow and he bowed thetendon in his back leg.
Well he was in soft cast for about 8 weeks total to allow the tendon to heal back but it takes about 6-8 months for it to heal but it will never be back to what it was. Since the ice melted finaly over out pond today I got Mongo back to swimming and retreving a duck since the vet said swimming is a very good thing for him.
What I am wondering since my vet does not know hunting what I am wondering does anyone else know what hunting/therapie things I can do with Mongo that is low impact but helps get him ready for hunting. The vet is saying he will never be able to hunt in the swap again becuase of having to pull his legs out of the heavy mud so I want to work with him doing corn fields. He has never done them just swamp areas from a blind.
Thanks for any help on this is is April and I want to get him in shape and get his leg back as best as it ever could be.
