dogfood price-OMG
Went to get my lab a 50lb sack of food tonight, it went from $14.98 to $19.98 just like that. Just a few months ago it was 12.98.
I just don't get it, everything is going up, but come on, thats a ridiculous price increase. I'm gonna check out another place tomorrow and if I can find what my dog likes there and if it hasn't went up, I'm buying several, severalbags of it.
Has anyone else noticed price increases like this yet?

Mine went from 16.00 to 22.00 in a month also. Thank your government for thinking ethanol is the answer tothe oil crisis.
He is probably talking aboutpremium dog food from the feed store Doc E. If he is like me it is not cost feasible to feed 6 dogs with 50 dollar a bag dog food. And not worth it either IMO

Yes, that $50 bag dog food is crazy! Even the vets office here don't carry dog food that high. Then again I realize where I'm from many things are somewhat cheaper than other parts of the country, reflecting the generally poor wages here.
I found some Diamond premium today that I've been told was good, $16 for 21%, $19 for 26%. I'm gonna try to feed him that. A person can still buy dog food for $12/ bag but it is the really cheap, non-nutrition stuff, but my dog will not eat most of the very cheap stuff.

Personally, I think people think $.40/lb for dog food may not be to bad, also think $3.00/gallon gas isn't to bad, also think food prices are good. Well, it seems to be the same with everything, price just creeps up a little at a time. Before you know it things have went up 40-100% and people don't think its bad because they have been "conditioned" to it. Now if itwent up by that much in 1 day,I think everyone would surely notice and care more than they do. I understand, these companies are in business to make money, but sometimes it seems the price increases just seem excessive.

$ .40/lb is very cheap. There is no way I could find a feed that costs that little here which would enable my dog to hunt hard all day in these conditions.
Then again, gas is over $ 4.00/gallon as well, but that's another story.

I used to pay $16 for a 50 lb. bag of Black Gold 26/18. I switched foods and now pay $27 for a 50 lb. bag of 26/16 Pro Plan and that's w/ a $5 off coupon & $5 off Pet Perks card. It doensn't count the Purina weight circle points though.
