I need to train a catch dog
I have 3 trail dogs but my 6 year old catch dog died last week on a hunt. I got a 6 week old Pit, Ab mix, and ive necer trained a catch dog before. He is strong and will bay hogs. I need to train him to catch be the neck as well.

If your pup is only six weeks old let him grow for a couple of more months after he gets a little age take a finshed catch dog on a little pig that can't hurt your dog. ( Make sure the pup is bigger than the pig you are going to beat up on.) have the finshed dog catch flip the pig take your pup and put it on the pigs ear and let him go but make sure the pup does not get hurt i can not stress that enough if you get him hurt he may not want to catch but as for now don't take him to the bay pen to watch the big dogs bay just let him grow he will get the hang of it verry quickly.
