Purina Pro Plan vs. Black Gold
#11
Below is a great website that analyzes dog foods and rate them on ingredients. Contrary to popular belief, name brands are typically the worst foods out there from an ingredient standpoint. Purina Pro Plan is a 1 star food according to this website. Many of the 6 star ultra premium foods are all natural and very expensive. I go with Canidae for my dog. My local co-op carries it and its quality kibble for a reasonable price. Check out this website below for more information.

If you are feeding puppy its a hard choice. Now for hunting dogs a lot of time they want you to have large breed puppy food. It has extra stuff in it for their brains. Although I wanted to go the natural route as the person above me said, my vet told me to wait until he was an adult to do that. It's really hard to know what to do here. I am doing what the vet says untill he is an adult. My vet recomended eukanuba, science diet, and Iams, because they carry large breed puppy food and she uses Iams for her dogs. I chose Eukanuba because it is a higher grade of iams. When my dog is older I will put in one california natural. I know we all want to be natural and everything, but how much do we really know. Do we really know as much as a vet.
