German hunting terrier
#1
Hello everyone!
This is my first thread in this forum...
I'm afraid that my english is not very good, for that I apologize. Anyway I live and hunt in the south of sweden, mostly with my german hunting terrier. My terrier hunt almost everyone of our common swedish games, fox, badger, wildboar, moose and roedeer. I understand that this breed is used also in the USA!?! My question is: How do you people use the german hunting terrier? is it used only for boar hunting or other game to?

That is what I know them as. I don't own one but have looked into it. Montana does not allow blood tracking wounded animals with a dog(dumbest thing I ever heard), so I have put off getting one. I have Deutch Drahthaars right now, totally in love with these dogs. My breeder says the jagdterrier is the toughest dog pound for pound in the world. I have never even seen one in person, very rare breed here I guess.
Does your dog get along with other dogs? I have heard they are one dog one owner one family dogs?

Your breeder is probably right, the jagdterrier is one badass dog. My breeder has around 15 jagdterrier for personal use/hunt. My dog get along with my 2 other dogs but he can be a little agressive agains other unknown dogs. I have worked very much with his obedience-training. His lust for hunting seems almost endless. He pretty much wants to kill every other animal. At home he's very calm and pleasant, but in the woods he's a monster....
