my question is how do you get an OFA cert for a dog bred before two? I was under the impression that you could not OFA a dog before the age of two accuratly...so, were you breeding without one? to have 7 litters on an eight year old you must have been unless you were breeding twice a year...???

i might be the father of your kids though,,,
Man, you need to get a life and grow up some. One thing I know is those 2 kids doesn't have a mouth like yours. If they did they would get a bar of soap to wash it out with. LOLAnd man do I ever love it here in the north country.

Well, I have had 2 litters with my 6 y.o. lab.I would not consider doing another litter with her. It takes a lot out of them and I personally think it would be a shame to have 10 litters with a dog. Pretty much making puppies its whole life. What a miserable life for that dog.
Guys, don't even listen to swamp hen. Too bad somebody doesn't lock her up in the coup and keep her laying eggs her whole life.

Hey guys, lets play nicely
Don't the Lab clubs have a Code of Ethics for breeding? I guess I thought all breed clubs did. It would seem to me that a person would want to conform to those (and maybe he does) whether a member of the club or not. After all, breeding recommendations are in place for the good of the mom (hate it when I can't say bi***) and the good of the breed.
My breed (not Labs, but don't hold that against me
) has very specific standards for breeding in their Code of Ethics. This is what they are for the girls in my breed:
1. Girl must be at least 1 year old (WAY too young in my opinion, would never breed a girl that young!)
2. No litters after the age of 7.
3. No more than 6 litters in a lifetime.
4. No more than 2 litters in any 3 consecutive years.
I understand that breeds vary, this was intended as an example of what we have to conform to in our breed.
