Default RE: new litter of blacks with one solid white

Hey guys, lets play nicely

Don't the Lab clubs have a Code of Ethics for breeding? I guess I thought all breed clubs did. It would seem to me that a person would want to conform to those (and maybe he does) whether a member of the club or not. After all, breeding recommendations are in place for the good of the mom (hate it when I can't say bi***) and the good of the breed.

My breed (not Labs, but don't hold that against me ) has very specific standards for breeding in their Code of Ethics. This is what they are for the girls in my breed:
1. Girl must be at least 1 year old (WAY too young in my opinion, would never breed a girl that young!)
2. No litters after the age of 7.
3. No more than 6 litters in a lifetime.
4. No more than 2 litters in any 3 consecutive years.

I understand that breeds vary, this was intended as an example of what we have to conform to in our breed.
