im not sure if this was covered or not. but what do you guys do when you run your dogs in this hot weather. i know lots of water. but anything else. do you cut the time down. my dog runs full speed as long as i let him. well ive been doing 1hr to 2hrs a day. well this week is just crazy hot and it shows in him fact he would lay down to drink and get up and get right back down so i ended it. and that was only 30 min in. any tips ???

If it's humid, then water work doesn't really help (no cooling evaporation).
You'll have to start getting up early --- very early in order to train before it gets hot (and humid).
You may need to cut down on the length of training time as well.
Last option is to move to somewhere it doesn't get too hot or humid.

I have to agree with Doc very early in the morning and cut the running time down. I sometimes take them to a field where I can walk around and let them hunt for a little while. And on the real hot days I take them to
some water so they can wade around or swim for a while. I feel sometimes a little exercise is enough to help keep them in shape if the weather is not agreeable. I do not run the dogs to hardfor a very long time in the heat.
