dogs first hunt
Went pheasant hunting over the weekend, dogs first time out. he's an english pointerabout 15 months old, noprofessional training, just what little we could do in my yard, (pheasant dummy for scent training, and retrieving and some hand signal work). He did really well, stayed within 40yds of me and a friend, followed my whistles and hand signals pretty good. When he found a bird he locked on solid, did'nt move as we approached, did'nt chase any birds up and retrieved right to my hand.
My buddy was pretty impressed withmy "training" if he only realized it was 99% dog and 1%me
