as you might know im getting a puppy soon, and there are a lot of stray cats around my place. not all are strays but there sure are a lot of cats. the lady next door puts feed out for them.. and some are hers but not all.. i know my yard is a huge litterbox for them, i was wondering if any sickness the cats have can pass thattomy dog. and does anyone have any ways of keeping cats away from my place... thank you if you can help

the only thing you would need to worry about is parasites: fleas and intestinal parasites, especially if your yard is a litter box. Also rabies, but your pup should be vaccinated for that.

usually a 12 gauge loaded with 3 in goose loads will work if u are in a bind but to be safe use a silenced 22 and some nighvision goggles and u won't have to worry about the cats anymore just aim for the head so they stop in their tracks and don't run in the neighbors yards

although not positive my beagle gets intestinal viruses from time to time and i think its all the cats. in my town they let you trap cats only in the warm months and you have to rent the traps from the town. if you shoot them with a pellet gun you will probably go to jail. i think all cats should be liscensed and kept indoors. they are a big problem in my area.
