My coonhound Hammer got in a fight last night when we were running him with another dog. He has some cut on his head and some places on his ears where he was bit also. Will this jus take time to heal and the hair will grow back or will it leaves scars marks on the dog.

Most of the time on the ears the hair wont grow back, for some reason the ears scare easy to. What on earth kindov dog got the jump on a coondog, I wouldnt want to have any of my dogs go aginst one of them. Have seen them kill cyotes befor, not a pritty site.

It was another Walker coonhound. We were running 2 males together so that might of caused it. All is well and they will be running again soon... Nothing compared to what a coon will do.

Just put some slave on it to prevent infection. They will heal up fine. Have you hunted the two together before? If so and they did fine, it was probably a one time thing.

if you guys think coon hunds are bad then you should try to read about a cuban bloodhound. This dog is now extinct because it was so bad. Im trying to learn more but i know it was to hunt down and kill run away slaves. think of it as a big blak mastiff type of hunting hound.
